TLDR: I wasn't here when they were introduced and have only played against one of them a couple times in a particular battle mode (ranked) so I wanted to get feedback from others that were here or better yet own one or more just to see how effective they are and generally if they are good, bad or just different? I understand there are parts that you can't qualify like being able to strike early when everyone is just moving into position, scouting targets (especially in the beginning), or finishing off low health targets. Even if you get a good hit with your squadron you have to recognize that the time it took you to do so you could have fired your main battery at an enemy ship (maybe twice) and probably done similar (if not more) damage to them instead? Or the captain acted like a regular BB player but in that case it was dangerous for him to launch his planes and not effectively maneuver his own ship to dodge or angle and since his DPM is so low it was relatively easy to kill him.Įven watching replays I keep thinking that you want to launch your planes as soon as you can to get the full benefit of being a hybrid but at the same time if you do so your not paying attention to your dodging or angling of your ship, you don't have an automatic damage con like carriers so you also could lose out there. Either the captain acted like a really bad carrier sitting at the back and launching planes at very long time intervals in which case the enemy team was effectively down a battleship and we won since they had effectively lost a huge amount of DPM and health pool that a BB should give. This makes sense as they have usually stripped a turret or two to get the flight deck but I can't seem to quantify the airplanes in statistics to see how effective this tradeoff is? Looking at the stats the DPM of both the Ise and Tone both in AP and HE are at the very bottom compared to their same tier counterparts. So I took a long time off playing the game around the time hybrid ships and submarines were being introduced and the commander rework was going on and I'm just this week playing some games and can't get a feeling on the usefulness of hybrid ships?
